Out of Character, a multi episode web series, is seeking actors for the pilot episode, which is scheduled to film the weekend of June 15.
Web Series, Out of Character follows Haley, a law student who always knows where she’s going and always has a plan. That is until she drops out of law school, gets kicked out of her home and finds herself facing an uncertain future of debt and unemployment. How’s a girl supposed to plan around that?
***All roles non-union.***Casting:
Haley: African American; mid 20s. Haley is smart, beautiful and poised. A perfectionist, but she never feels as though it’s enough. Haley went to law school to make her mother happy, but now she’s ready to stop living for others and start living for herself. Endearing and sympathetic, especially as she tries to maintain control over her unraveling life.
Josh: Caucasian; mid-20s. Cynical and sarcastic, but has a charm that you can’t resist. Raised by a teenaged single mother who proceeded to bring a variety of men in and out of his life, Josh doesn’t let anyone get too close. But he’s fiercely loyal and protective of those he does care about. Has a push-pull relationship with Haley.
Travis: African-American; late 20s. Older brother to Haley. Easy going and laidback; the self-appointed voice of reason. Travis doesn’t let anything phase him- not the constant battles between his mother and sister or his 80 hour a week schedule as a medical resident. It’s a tough juggling act, but if anyone can do it, it’s him.
Anette: African-American; mid 50s. Mother to Haley and Travis. Anette expects nothing from the best, especially when it comes to her daughter. She’s difficult to please, which makes things hard for Haley and everyone else around her. Lives her life in black and white, with nary a shade of gray, and she likes it that way.
