“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” Film Rendition Casting Now



If you have a child, chances are they are already a fan of the international bestseller book series, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. But now is a great chance for your kid to take that love for the book series to an entirely new level! 20th Century Fox is turning the famous book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid- the Long Haul” by Jeff Kinney into a movie and is now seeking lead roles for it. So if your kid is an aspiring young actor, read the notice for the casting call below.

About ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’

The ‘Wimpy Kid’ series initially appeared on FunBrain back in 2004. It was read online over 20 million times. Later it made a printed version debut in 2007. The 150 million copies of the book series have now been translated into 45 different languages and are available in 51 unique editions. The book series take a satirical tone and revolves around a kid who has just stepped into middle school and is struggling to fit in. He has to face consequences of his actions and survive the entire year.

About ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Long Haul’

‘The Long Haul’ was released in November 2014. It is the ninth book of the Wimpy Kid series. It is about a family road trip planned by Susan Heffley.  From a pet pig, to being attacked by seagulls, to weird happenings, the journey is never dull, and the movie will surely be one of the best kids’ movies of the year.

Description of Roles

The production is seeking children to play the following lead roles:

Rowley Jefferson

Aged between 10 -12 years, Rowley is Greg’s best friend. Slightly heftier and broad shouldered when compared to Greg. He is naïve, sweet, honest, earnest and straightforward. He is a well-natured boy who does not have a single bad bone within him and he always says what is on his mind.

Greg Heffley

He is the lead character. Greg is precocious. He is intelligent and has an appealing persona. He is aged 10 -12 years. The actor must be able to take care of dialogues and should be able to communicate ironical comedy within the tones. Just imagine how “Larry David” would have been in middle school.
