About the Film
“They” is the latest short film project of Gin & Tonic Films – a Chicago/Houston based independent production house. The production company is co-owned by Alex Hall (Tonic) and Gin Yu who have made it their mission to narrate inspiring stories through compelling cinematography and quality work.
Previous films by Gin & Tonic have entertained adults with their comedy, dark humor, originality, heist, and even horror. They have also created exceptional goodwill in making worthy documentaries, web series, and even feature films.
“They” is the story of J. A teenager coming of age, who finds themselves at the crossroads of deciding a gender identity for themselves.
J’s gender is not disclosed in the film which is why the teenager goes by the pronoun “they”. While J’s parents depart for a short trip, J is left in the care of their elder sister and her partner. When the two move in with J to look after the house and the teenager, each finds themselves in a peculiar situation. The film revolves around the transitions and experiences the three characters go through during the 3 days they spend together.
